Post and Rail fencing is primarily used when a large fence is required and you want to keep the costs down. It’s the ideal solution for a good quality boundary fence. It’s similar to chestnut fencing but the rails and posts are all straight. Mesh can also be nailed onto the posts and rails to keep animals out.

Post & Rail fencing is a good, sturdy fence – perfect for keeping the boundary to your property. Mostly used on either commercial buildings or larger estates. Examples in the photos below show mesh installed on the fence to keep animals getting inside the property. The rails normally come in 3.6m lengths and posts are installed every 1.8m (purely for the fact people occasionally climb on the fence and you would need a solid foundation).
